Grammy-nominated singer, Archbishop Timothy Broglio at Diocesan Event

Jacksonville, FL – Popular Christian artist and songwriter Matt Maher will perform in concert on Saturday, March 9, 7 p.m., at the Prime Osborn Convention Center in Jacksonville.

The singer songwriter, who has penned songs with Christian rock artists such as Chris Tomlin, Michael W. Smith, Jars of Clay, and others, is part of this year’s 2013 Eucharistic Congress that begins on Friday, March 8, at the convention center.

The 2-day event, open to the public and hosted by the Catholic Diocese of St. Augustine, FL, begins Friday evening with opening remarks from Bishop Felipe Estevez of the Diocese of St. Augustine, followed by Living Stations of the Cross.

The theme of this year’s Eucharistic Congress – Come to the Feast, is designed to help Catholics deepen their understanding of the Eucharist as the source for spiritual nourishment.

Also on Saturday, March 9, at 9 a.m., Bishop Estevez will concelebrate Mass with Archbishop Timothy Broglio, J.C.D. of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, assisted by clergy from around the diocese.

Other guests include: Randy Raus, president andCEO of Life Teen, a ministry found in 1,600 parishes nationwide and in 26 countries, and Fr. Glenn Sudano, a founding member of the Franciscan Friars Renewal, Dana, a Christian recording artist from Ireland, and others.  

A youth program for children ages 5-12, teens, and young adults is new this year, and pre-registration and a $5 fee are required for the youth program to cover materials and lunch.

Tickets for the Matt Maher concert are $10 each and can be purchased through Ticketmaster, and Jacksonville Veteran’s Memorial Arena. Tickets will be available for purchase before the concert on Saturday, March 9, at the Eucharistic Congress.
