Local Businesses TEE-UP to support annual golf and tennis classic

Jacksonville, Fla. – The 9th Annual Golf and Tennis Classic benefiting Guardian Catholic Schools, is Monday, April 15, at San José Country Club in Jacksonville.

Returning Title Sponsor – Brumos Motor Cars, Mercedes-Benz of Orange Park, as well as Gold Sponsors – The Haskell Company, Jacksonville JetPort and Colo5, have once again rallied their support of the annual event that has raised more than $500,000 for Guardian Catholic Schools, which include St. Pius V and Holy Rosary Catholic schools.

“We are grateful for the support of our dedicated sponsors, and those who participate in this exciting event each year,” said Mervin Denny, director of development for Guardian Schools. “Because of their commitment, we are able to provide children living in poor economic areas of Jacksonville the opportunity to receive a Catholic school education.”

Registration and breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m., followed by the Golf Scramble at 8:30 a.m., and Tennis Round Robin at 9:30 a.m. Lunch, presentation of awards, and a silent and live auction with spectacular items begins at 1:30 p.m.

For more than 90 years, St. Pius V and Holy Rosary Catholic Schools on Jacksonville’s Northside – have served low income families by providing an affordable option to send their children to Catholic schools.

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization of the Diocese of St. Augustine, the Guardian Catholic Schools raises financial support, in-kind gifts and resources for Pre-K3 through 8th grade students regardless of their economic status or religious preference. The support enables the schools to remain a driving force that addresses child literacy within urban neighborhoods.
